The 5 Minute Face – The Quickest, Easiest Makeup Ever

The only 5 Steps you need to get your makeup done for the day!

A few weeks ago Viva magazine did a cover feature on the less-is-more makeup trend or as we like to call it ‘no makeup’ makeup. This article featured four women who have embraced the minimal makeup in their everyday lives highlighting a rare occasion where the catwalk trend reflects the reality of what women really want.
It got me thinking – what do we really want? We want to achieve maximum results in our makeup regime in a minimal amount of time. Mornings, particularly if you have kids, can be controlled chaos just getting out the door but we still want to leave the house presenting the best version of ourselves to the world. It needs to be quick and it needs to be simple…it needs to be a 5 minute face!
When we sit down with our clients for a makeup lesson the first thing we go through is the 5 minute face before building up to work and evening looks. I would have to say that for most of our clients this is enough for the day helped along by a slew of fabulous multitasking products that blur, correct, cover and protect.

So what is The 5 Minute face?

Simple really – 5 steps, a minute for each (give or take) = 5 minutes
1. Option 1: BB, CC cream applied with fingertips then quick blend over with foundation brush or sponge to make sure no unevenness.Or option 2: if you’re

a mineral powder kinds of girl buff into the skin with a kabuki brush.

2. Groom brows: comb and shape then fill where needed with brow pencil.

3. Mascara + wash of colour (optional): if going for shadow apply first going for a light-med, neutral tone – starting at lash line blend across lid and up over crease with a fluffy brush. Mascara – take your time here!

4. Blush: buffed into the apples of the cheek and up towards hair line.

5. Lipstick or gloss.
