Best makeup trend this summer – No Makeup Makeup!

Tips for the easiest makeup trend for summer!

The spring/summer catwalks were flooded with glowing healthy model armies. The mood? Slightly preppy, very fresh faced with plumped lips, glowing skin and punchy pigments sparingly used on what I call “no makeup makeup”.

There’s an art to this undone makeup but once you get your head around that it’s about wearing a little bit of makeup really well you’ll end up with an easy, effortlessly, gorgeous, dewy makeup that should take you no time to do in the morning.

Step 1 – The Base + Cheeks
This look is all about perfect, radiant skin and while most of us are not 22 anymore there’s a host of products on the market to help achieve a glowing skin. Less is definitely more for this look so go for a BB or CC cream rather than a foundation as they are an all-in-one product designed to target any skin imperfections. Apply by “buffing” into the skin with a foundation brush and if you have to use powder go for a mineral option applied just through your T-zone.
Blush is another must both high lighting the cheek bones and helping give the face a rosy-cheeked- I’ve-just-stepped-off-the-mountain glow. Apply on the apples (fleshy bit of the cheek that you see when you smile) and work up to up long the cheek bone. Go for a soft peach or dusty rose shades.
Still need a bit of extra help? Check out new ‘blur’ creams and primers designed to act like a filter ‘blurring’ pores, pigmentation and fine lines – just like magic!

Our favourite products: BB creams from Jane Iredale, CC creams from Clinique, Blur cream from L’Oreal, Halo mineral powder from Smashbox and MAC pro long blusher in ‘well dressed’ and ‘fleur power’

Step 2 – The Eyes + Brows
Just 3 simple steps – cream eye shadow blended into the lid with your ring finger, a dark choc or charcoal shadow worked into the top lash line and lashings of mascara top and bottom. Brows are very important for this look to frame the eye and give definition to the face so groom and fill any gaps with fine feathered stoked of a brow pencil or powder.
Our picks: Maybelline cream Eye Studio colour tattoo in ‘bad to the bronze’ or ‘too cool’, Revlon colour links in ‘Java’ or ‘gunmetal’ to act as your soft liner, Maybelline ‘Big eyes’ mascara and Smashbox Brow tech to-go

Step 3 – The Lips
You can go two ways here keep it soft, pretty and natural with a translucent pink or neutral tone or opt for a bold pop of colour in tangerine or fuchsia pink. The idea is to keep lips not too “done” so no need for lip pencils and gorgeously glossy.

Our picks: O-gloss from Smashbox for the perfect pink, tinted lip glass from MAC (huge range of colours) and for a juicy, pop of colour Colourstay Moisture Stain from Revlon

dewy skin and gorgeous eyes
