Tips for getting THE Hairstyle of the Season – Hair We Go!

This weeks blog is on hair tips coming into spring – How to achieve the Hairstyle of the season – hair inspiration we love !!

The hair cut of the season … The one hairstyle that works for EVERYONE!

Wait for it…the BOB is back (some would say it never went away) but it’s not as you know it.
The “new” bob, as I’m going to call it, was popping up everywhere on the spring/summer runways becoming a mini trend in itself. Women are always on the lookout for the perfect ‘do’, started requesting it and finding they loved it, showing that any version of the style would work for everyone.
This hair cut isn’t new with model Karla Kloss, she first created a stir when she chopped her locks off 18 months ago. As gorgeous as she is Karla suddenly looked fresh and oh-so current. Her do was a departure from the traditional pin straight cut bobs cuts of the 1920’s flapper or Vidal Sassoon in the 60’s. Thanks to modern cutting techniques it was softer with movement and dare I say it…looked easy to care for.
This is definitely part of the hairstyles’ mass appeal. But it doesn’t stop there…firstly the length is really up to you (and your hair type) sitting somewhere between a centimetre below your jaw to a few centimetres above the shoulder – not too short to look puffy, not too long to fall into “no man’s land”. It also makes fine hair look thicker and unusually for the bob it works for most hair types with the only exception being extremely tightly, curled hair.
You can wear it sleek and straight or tousled and textured. Opt for a side part (great for square and round shape faces) or a strong, blunt fringe (great for oval or long faces). If you decide to take the plunge and go for this fab new hairstyle, take pictures of cuts you like along to your hairdresser as a reference. Be prepared to make changes depending on hair type, face shape and lifestyle, and also get them to show you different ways to style it and maximise the cut.
Still not convinced? The new bob is an easy update, unlike say deciding to go for a pixie crop. It will get you looking modern and current with its’ slightly edgy and fresh vibe and it will be a fantastic contrast against the pretty florals and lolly pastels around this summer season.
We’re sold on this short cut – you should be too!
